A young Jumper (1982)-------------------------------Present day (1999)

After spending my teenage years as a Cadet in the Royal Canadian Army Cadets (1977-81), I started my regular force career in Jan of 82. Upon graduating "Ecole des Recrues des Forces Canadiens" at BFC St-Jean, Quebec I was sent to "Ecole de Combat du Royal 22ieme Regiment" at BFC Valcartier, Quebec to do my Basic Infantrymans Course.

Less than a week after graduating, and being posted to 2R22ER(the Vandoos) "La Citadelle", I found myself as a candidate on the Basic Parachutist Course. 5 weeks later, 53 out of 110 candidates granduated with our Jump Wings. I was immediatly posted to, 1er Commando, Canadian Airborne Regiment, at CFB Petawawa, Ontario.

After my tour with the Airborne, I was posted to 2 PLT, A COY, 3R22ER, at BFC Valcartier, Quebec. In Mar 85, our unit diployed on Peacekeeping Duty on the Mediteranian Island of Cyprus. My company was tasked with the observation of the East End of the Canadian Sector IV (which incorporated Ortona House and Freezenburg House). Upon our return from Cyprus I was transfered to the Mortar PLT and continued my career as a VANDOO.

In Aug 1987, I reported to the Canadian Forces School of Communication and Electronics for my voluntary remuster to 212 Teletype Operator in the Communication and Electronics Branch. Once my course was over in Nov 87, I was posted to 764 Communication Squadron in Ottawa, Ontario.

In Aug 1995, I was posted to Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics, in Kingston, Ontario. As an Instructor at CFSCE, I was one of the staff responsible to teach the last TQ5 Tel-Op Course and more recently I helped develop and instruct the Integrated Data Network(IDN) for both Operators and Technicians. I also had the pleasure to instruct Land Tactical Training to the Rad ops and Linemen (my infantry background never leaves me).

At the present I am the "Military Training Coordinator" for 76 Communication Group in Ottawa, Ontario.

On another note. Since 1993, I've also had the joy to work with a great group of people at Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps 2317-30th Fld Arty Regt, CFRB Dows Lake here in Ottawa. At this corps I act as Trg NCO and work with the staff and cadets in various aspects of cadet and infantry based training.

Je Me Souviens.
